The Features and Benefits of Designing and Building A Custom Home Floor Plan

The Features and Benefits of Designing and Building A Custom Home Floor Plan

There’s nothing better than buying a new home, unless you are buying a custom home built from a floor plan that you designed. It may sound hard, to design your own home, but as long as you work with the right home builder, it can be both beneficial and a joy. There are many benefits that a custom home can provide. Building the right custom home floor plan that suits the needs of you and your family can be an extremely rewarding process. Here are a few of the benefits you can reap when you design a custom home.

  • Creativity: Nothing will express your personality more than when you design your own home. You choose everything inside and out of what is going to be your home for many years to come, maybe for the rest of your life. It is the biggest purchase that you are ever likely to make so you might as well get what you want. Be creative, lay out your vision and work with your home builder to watch that vision come to fruition!
  • Flexibility: You can adapt your floor plan to suit your needs and any issues you may face when you design a custom home. Perhaps you design your own home and buy a lot, but you find issues with the setbacks on the lot you purchased. You love the lot, that’s why you bought it, and the beauty is, you can work with your home builder to adapt the plans to fit the lot without losing any amenities, you can simply move them around.
  • Suit your needs: When you design your own home, you can make sure that it has everything that you and your family need or want. After all, it’s a custom home, it can have as many bedrooms and bathrooms as you need or envision needing. Do your in-laws visit a lot. Once again, it’s a custom home floor plan. You can build a nice little guest house if you desire so they are close enough to keep everyone happy but not too close so that they cramp your lifestyle.

In reality, when you design a custom home, the sky is the limit. You can do anything that you desire so long as you are realistic with your floor plan and stay within your budget. You have to allow for a cushion when planning your budget in case any unforeseen issues arise, but when you are done and enjoying your new house, all of the effort will be well worth it.

When it comes to building your custom home in northern Ohio Paraprin Construction’s new home construction team, led by Dave Linna & his 30-plus years of experience buidling custom homes, is who you can trust to turn your custom home vision into your family’s dream home reality.

A Checklist of Things to do Once You Get the Keys to Your Newly Built Home

A Checklist of Things to do Once You Get the Keys to Your Newly Built Home

New home construction can be exhilarating, especially when you are buying your first newly built home. New construction means everything is brand new, never used, in tip top shape. The home even has that fresh smell, and you’ll be the first to basically do everything in it. So, it should be as simple as just moving in and unpacking, right?

In reality, this is not the case. Everything is new once home construction is completed, but that may not mean that everything is completed or completed properly, or that something won’t malfunction or work properly. New house construction is like anything else in life, things can go wrong and there can be unforeseen problems, even if you hire the best home builder and that home builder does an excellent job. New home construction requires a final walk through like any other home that you may buy. Here is a checklist of things to do once you get the keys to your newly built home.

  • Start outside: Check the landscaping, the coloring, and that all of the outside spigots work properly. If you have any ideas to improve the landscaping, like adding concrete landscape edging, now is the time to engage your home builder. Check all outside home construction, how does the deck, garage and pool look?
  • Doors and Windows: New house construction might look great, but you need to check all portals and exit points. Examine the seals for leaks or breaks. Open and close every one to make sure that they work properly. Stand back from the house and examine the curb appeal, because outdoor aesthetics play a huge role in the perceived value of your home.
  • Plumbing: Once inside, check all of the plumbing in your new home. Make sure everything works properly and drains properly. Check for leaks, even brand-new plumbing can get damaged during home construction, or it could be improperly installed.
  • Electricity: Check all of the outlets, test every appliance and device and check the fuse box to make sure it can handle a house running on full electricity.
  • Walls and floors: Check every surface throughout the house for any potential warping or cracks. Check the paint for bubbles or stains, any vinyl for cracks or tears, granite for cracks, and so on. You want to find any potential defect or flaw on any surface before you move in.
  • Basements, crawl spaces or attics: Check any space you might have that isn’t general living space and go through it thoroughly to make sure it is stable and properly constructed.

The best way to ensure your newly built home is properly constructed is to partner with the most trusted builder in your area. How the Proper Integration of Concrete & Landscaping Can Make Your Home a Dream Home.

How the Proper Integration of Concrete & Landscaping Can Make Your Home a Dream Home.

Picture this, you’ve found the ideal home builder and settled on the price for your dream home. Of course, it will cost a pretty penny or two, but you and your family are worth it, and this is where you will be spending the rest of your life, so why not get the custom home you want. The home builder does a great job, and the home isn’t lavish, but it definitely has some luxury. It has all of the colors and amenities you want, and you are satisfied with your newly built home. You sit down to your first family meal in your dream home and open the curtains of the floor to ceiling windows and see…

Mounds of upturned dirt and rock, sparse patches of dying grass, a few scraggly trees and some mud puddles.

There goes your dream home.

No one wants to live in a dump. If you want your dream home, be it a home you already live in or a custom home you have a home builder construct for you, understanding how concrete landscaping can finish painting the ideal dream home portrait is a must. Whether you add a concrete patio or concrete landscape edging, concrete landscaping can provide the finishing touch that truly makes any home a dream home.

Concrete, if properly used when landscaping, can provide the home with a fantastic look that lasts. Sure, there are other options besides concrete curbing and concrete landscape edging, like plastic and wood for example. They might even be a bit cheaper in regard to upfront costs, but over the long haul, concrete landscaping will save you time, effort, maintenance and money. Concrete lasts far longer than other curbing and landscaping options. It is much more durable and easier to clean than any plastic or wood alternative.

The fact is, concrete landscape edging isn’t just more durable and easier to maintain than other options, but it provides a nice, clean, neat look that will remain for many years. Woods, vinyls and plastics fade, warp and discolor. They require routine maintenance, and over time, the look that you started with, the one that you fell in love with, will change. Concrete will never fail you, and you will have a look that lasts.

So, remember, when you’re sitting on your nice, clean concrete patio, enjoying the view of your beautiful yard accented with concrete curbing and concrete landscape edging enjoying a nice cold beverage, what you see will stay that way for many years to come. Your dream home will never become a maintenance nightmare.

When it comes to building your dream home or turning your existing house into your dream home, Paraprin Construction is who you can trust to get the job done. From new home construction to renovations, Paraprin’s team has the vision & execution needed to achieve your desired results.

Bring it all together with Paraprin Concrete Solutions & Paraprin Landscaping.

Building a new home doesn’t have to be stressful, have fun!

Building a new home doesn’t have to be stressful, have fun!

Are you considering new home construction? Newly built homes are great, but far too many people get uptight when they start a new home project. Many people get stressed even thinking about building custom homes. Here is a tip, leave the stress to the home builders. Home builders have to deal with the headaches and delays and issues that arise when developing newly built homes. You and your family should sit back and simply enjoy the process. After all, how often do you get to be involved with a new home construction project, let alone build a custom home that will be your families dream home for many years to come? Here are several ways to make the project a complete blast, from start to finish:

  • Get creative: You have to be realistic, you can do a lot with custom built homes, but just because you design a gravity free moon playroom for the kids, it doesn’t mean that your home builder can build it, no matter how talented they are. Still, you can build hidden rooms or closets, have a pet washing station in the garage, or build a small bar in the master bedroom. Being creative will make your newly built home feel like home!
  • Be smart: Since you will be designing your custom home, or having it designed, you can take advantage of smart technology to modernize your newly built home. You may not be able to afford a home like Bill Gates, that adjusts the temperature in every room you walk into, but you’d be surprised how nice smart technology is, and at what you can really afford.
  • Don’t forget the details: Your home builder can do some amazing things if they know what you want! Small details, like where outlets will go and built in USB ports in places where you’ll use devices can make your life much simpler. What about cabinet lighting that automatically activates only when needed, like when you walk by? You can make sure that the shower heads are the right height for you, and your entertainment centers are built into the home where you want them. Anything you can do to make your life stress free is a good thing to build into your home.

Building a custom home is a great experience if you just let yourself enjoy it. Your home builder can work with you to build features and benefits right into your newly built home, so living in it can be as enjoyable as designing and building it!

For folks who live in northern Ohio, communities throughout Lorain, Erie and Cuyahoga Counties, the team at Paraprin Construction is the one builder you can trust to build your dream home.  Rather you want an existing Paraprin floorplan, or a custom home designed to your exact specifications – the new home construction team at Paraprin has your back.  Looking to build in an existing development like Cold Creek Crossing or want to build on your own lot – we’ve got you covered.

Please call (440) 523-8254 for inquiries into Paraprin Construction services, floor plans, communities and more. You’ll always be treated with respect, first-class customer service and there are zero obligations – give us a shout today!
